공주대학교 캠퍼스는 철마산과 공주 시가지로 이어지는 도시경관 축을 형성하고, 그 축을 통해 지역 사회와의 소통?교류를 상징적으로 드러내고 있다. 캠퍼스에서 문화체육관의 위치는 대학광장과 본부와의 관계, 예술광장과 기존 체육관과의 관계 그리고 정문，더 나아가 지역사회와의 관계 속에서 존재한다. 문화체육관은 대학본부，도서관과 더불어 캠퍼스의 코어를 형성하며，캠퍼스의 유기적 연계를 이루는 네트워크의 중심으로 자리잡는다. 기존 체육교육시설과의 연계를 통해 교육프로그램 네트워크를 도모하며, 대학의 상징적 아이콘으로 발돋움하여 새로운 도약을 준비한다.
The Campus of Kongju National University forms part of the urban landscape that connects Cheolmasan Mountain and downtown Gongju and represents interaction with the local community through that connection. The Culture and Sports Center exists within the relationship between the university square and the administrate building, within the relationship between the art square and the existing sp아ts center, and within the relationship with the front gate, and further, the community. The Culture and Sports Center forms the core of the campus along with the administrator building and the library and serves as the center of a network that is organically linked to the campus. With its connection to the old sports facility, the new center promotes a network for education programs and prepares to become the university’s symbolic icon.
